Hello! My name is Ashley Marino. I am from Stow, a little around 15 minutes outside of Akron. I commute while still living at home with my older sister, younger brother, and parents. My sister actually attends Akron as well and my brother is in the Air-Force. We own one dog named Chase who is thirteen years old. I have such a big, loving and Italian family. We all support each other and someone is always there when you need them. I have many great friends and a wonderful boyfriend as well. I love to have a good time and try to make the best out of every situation. Summer time is my favorite time of year and I have a deep love for country music. My favorite color is yellow and I cannot live without food, shopping and laughter. I love to be around children. They bring such joy to the world and make everyone smile. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher, and to be a part of such a joyful career.
Coming into college, I was undecided, only because I thought that I wanted to explore my options and come out of my comfort zone. Quickly realizing that I was unhappy, and wasting my time and money trying to figure myself out, I eventually talked to my close friends and family and came to the decision to pursue education. So far, my experience has been the best yet during my time here at Akron. I feel like I was meant to do this, and feel like I belong while I sit in class. Declaring my major as early childhood education was the best decision that I ever made. Life is tough and it throws curve balls at you, but I have learned if you work and study hard, it pays off in the long run. Succeeding feels good and I hope that I can be a great teacher and get my future students to succeed as well.
I hope to one day be the teacher, for my future students, like the ones that I think back to, when I think about my elementary school days. I had pretty good teachers growing up and some of them even being my inspirations. I believe that I have the perfect personality to become a teacher. I currently work with the public, so I have been around many faces. Dealing with new school years every year could get stressful but I think I have many great qualities that will allow me to use my time management and to do a fabulous job as being an educator. I would be a great teacher candidate because I have a vision of what my classroom could provide to help my students and I also know what I am capable to doing in being a teacher. I have many future goals like getting a good job, getting married, having children and owning my house one day. All of these goals will push me to be a better person and lead me on the correct path and I was made for.
I hope to one day become a great teacher and to provide the best education to the future generations.
